If you are searching gold selling near me from Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara or Kaushambi, expect the scale to read less than the whole piece weighs. Stones, meena, clasps, solder and dirt are not gold, so they come off before weighing. A 10 gram set reading 8.4 grams is normal, and you can watch every step.

We are Cash for Gold - Sona Do Paise Lo, at the counter in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West), and pickups cover Delhi NCR. This post is for sellers on the Indirapuram side of the Hindon. The Indirapuram page has the short version of how we work here.

Gold selling near me from Indirapuram: why does the weight read less?

The shop pays for gold, so the scale has to show gold. Everything else on the piece is weighed out of the total first.

A necklace set from Ahinsa Khand or Niti Khand often has a lot on it that is not gold. So does a jhumka from a wedding in Vaishali. The weight you remember from the bill or from the jeweller's slip counted all of it.

What comes off the piece before it is weighed?

  • Stones and beads. We do not buy stones. They are taken off and handed back to you.
  • Meena (enamel). The coloured coating adds weight and is not gold.
  • Clasps and screws. Steel or brass fittings are removed where they can be.
  • Solder. Old repairs leave joins that are not the same gold.
  • Dirt. Years of oil and dust sit in chain links and under settings.

Pieces with a lot of work on them lose the most. Plain chains and bangles lose the least. For the full list, read stones, meena and clasps: the parts that are not gold.

Why can a 10 gram set read 8.4 grams?

Take a set that weighs 10 grams as one piece. Say 1.6 grams of that is stones, meena and fittings. The gold left is 8.4 grams. That is an illustration, not a quote for your set. Your own pieces will differ.

Only the 8.4 grams is gold. Purity and the day's rate apply to that weight. The figure for your piece is worked out at the counter after testing, not before. Your family may still say the set is "10 gram ka". That is the whole piece, not the gold in it.

How do I watch it happen at the counter?

You do not have to trust a number. Ask for each step in front of you.

  1. Ask for the whole piece to be weighed first. Note that number.
  2. Watch the parts come off. Ask to see the stones and fittings set aside.
  3. Ask for the clean gold to be weighed. Note that number as well.
  4. Watch the karatmeter reading taken. It gives the purity of that gold. How the reading is taken.
  5. Ask for the three numbers written down: weight, purity and rate.

If the gap between steps 1 and 3 is bigger than you expected, ask what was removed. The answer should be something you can point to on the counter. For more on this gap, see why the weight on the scale is less than you expected.

Should I bring it in, or ask for a pickup from Indirapuram?

Both work. Pick by what you are selling.

The counter suits you if you have a few plain pieces, such as a chain, a ring or a pair of bangles. The route is NH-24 / the Delhi-Meerut Expressway side towards Crossings Republik, then into Greater Noida West. It is about 20 to 30 minutes outside peak hours, map estimate. Carry the gold in a bag you hold yourself. Carrying gold safely has the details.

A pickup is the better call for heavy wedding sets with many stones. These are the sets with the most to separate, and you will want to sit and watch without watching the clock. It also suits anyone who does not want to carry jewellery across the expressway. Pickup covers Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara and Kaushambi, usually the same half-day. To book, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and say what you have: plain pieces, or sets with stones and meena.

Near you there is a Muthoot and several jeweller showrooms that take old gold as exchange. This shop buys for cash. A jeweller's exchange also takes stones and wastage off the weight, so ask any buyer to show you the same steps. Our page on cash or exchange at a jeweller sets the two side by side.

What if the gold selling near me shows a number I do not accept?

Say so at the counter. Ask for the piece to be weighed again. Ask to see what was removed. If it still does not sit right, take your gold back and leave. Nothing has to happen today. You can get a second quote and compare the clean gold weight and purity, not only the final figure.

If you think of this as "purana sona bechna hai" and want the same steps in Hinglish, the gold bechna hai page covers them. If you live nearer Ghaziabad proper, see the Ghaziabad page.

Questions people ask

Why does my gold weigh less at the shop than on my bill? The bill weight counts the whole piece, including stones, meena and fittings. The shop weighs only the gold after those come off, so the number is lower.

Can I take my stones back? Yes. We do not buy stones, so they come off and stay with you.

Can I watch the gold being weighed from Indirapuram or Vaishali? Yes. Ask for the whole piece, the clean gold and the karatmeter reading in front of you. For a pickup, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and the same steps happen at your door.
