Selling gold from Delhi: get the number before you get in the car
Our counter is in Greater Noida West, not in Delhi. That is a real journey across the city, so we would rather quote you a range on WhatsApp first than have you travel and find the number does not suit you. Or skip the journey: we pick up from homes across Delhi, same day, and the test is the same.
What to send us so the range is useful
- A photo of the whole piece on a plain surface, in daylight if you can.
- A close photo of any stamp inside a ring or on a chain clasp: 916, 22K, 750, a BIS mark, a six-digit code.
- The weight, if you have a scale. A kitchen scale is close enough for a range.
- Tell us if there are stones — kundan, meena work, or anything set into the piece. Those parts are not gold and come off the weight.
What comes back is a range, not a promise. The final number comes from the karatmeter reading at the counter, because no photograph can measure purity. If the range does not justify the journey, we will say so.
Ask before you travel
A two-minute call can save you two hours in traffic. There is no charge for a valuation and nothing to sign.
Getting here from Delhi
From south and central Delhi
DND Flyway into Noida, then across Noida towards Sector 71 and Kisan Chowk, and on into Greater Noida West. Kalindi Kunj is the alternative when the DND is backed up.
From east Delhi
NH-9 towards Ghaziabad, then leave the highway around Crossings Republik and come into Greater Noida West from the Ghaziabad side.
From west and south-west Delhi
Come in over Kalindi Kunj or the DND and follow the same route across Noida. Crossing the city is the part worth timing, not the last stretch.
By metro: Blue Line to Noida Sector 52, or Aqua Line to Sector 51, then an auto or e-rickshaw to Ek Murti Chowk and Gaur City. Ask for French Arcade on the Sector 16B road.
By car: whichever crossing you use, the last stretch is Kisan Chowk to Ek Murti Chowk to Sector 16B. Cars park on the road outside the arcade.
Traffic across the city varies more than the distance does, so we do not print a drive time. Call when you set out and again when you are near, and we will have the counter ready.
Is the trip worth it?
Sometimes it is not, and we would rather tell you that than waste your afternoon. Ask any buyer near you for the same three things we will give you:
- The measured purity, and the chance to watch the machine take the reading.
- The weight, taken on a scale you can see.
- The buying rate they are using, and the arithmetic that gets to the total.
If a shop near you gives you all three and a better number, sell there. If they will not show you the working, that is worth knowing before you hand anything over. This is how we do it.
Questions from people travelling in
Do you have a branch in Delhi?
No. There is one counter and it is in Greater Noida West, near French Arcade on Sector 16B Road. We do come to homes across Delhi, same day, with the same karatmeter, and there is a page for each part of the city linked at the foot of this one.
Can you tell me a price over WhatsApp?
We can give you a range from photos and a rough weight, which is usually enough to decide whether the trip is worth it. We cannot give you a final number, because purity has to be measured on the machine and no photograph can do that.
Do you pay for my travel?
No, and you should be careful with anyone who offers to. The cost of that offer comes back out of the rate you are given.
Can I sell jewellery that belongs to someone else in my family?
The purchase is recorded against the ID of the person selling, so that person needs to be present. Call us before you travel and we will tell you what is needed for your situation.
How long does it take once I arrive?
Testing and weighing is quick. Most of the time at the counter is spent going through the calculation with you. Payment is made the same day, in cash or by bank transfer.
Send a photo, get a range
Tell us what you have and roughly what it weighs. We will come back with a range and you can decide from there.
