Today's gold rate in Noida is not set by any single shop. Bullion dealers and jewellers across India follow a daily reference rate published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), adjusted for import duty and GST, and most shops quote close to that number. What you are actually paid for your jewellery sits below the published rate, because purity, the making charges already spent on the piece, and the shop's own margin are all worked out at the counter once your gold is tested on a karatmeter.

This shop is in Noida Extension, Greater Noida West, and also arranges pickups across Delhi NCR for anyone who would rather not carry gold across the city. If you are searching "sell gold near me" or asking where to check "aaj ka gold rate", this is the short version of how that number is built.

Who actually sets the rate?

No single shop decides the gold rate. The India Bullion and Jewellers Association publishes a reference rate for 999 fine gold (24 karat, 99.9% pure) most mornings, based on international bullion prices, the rupee-dollar exchange rate, and demand from bullion dealers that day. Jewellers and gold buyers across the country, including here in Noida, check this rate and set their own counter rates close to it.

The rate can move during the day if international prices swing or the rupee moves sharply against the dollar. That is why the number you hear from a neighbour yesterday, or see on an old screenshot, is not reliable today.

Why does the Noida rate not match the international price?

International gold prices are usually quoted in US dollars per troy ounce, for pure gold, with no Indian taxes attached. Two things change that number by the time it reaches a shop in Noida:

  • Import duty. Gold entering India carries a customs duty, added before the metal reaches any Indian bullion market.
  • GST. Goods and Services Tax is charged on gold bought and sold within India, on top of the duty-adjusted price.

Once the dollar price is converted to rupees, duty and GST are added, and the figure is worked out per gram or per 10 grams for the purity you are asking about, you get a number that will always run higher than the plain international spot price you see quoted in foreign news.

Why is my payout lower than the published rate?

The IBJA reference rate is for 999 fine gold. Very little jewellery is that pure. Most of what people bring in is 22 karat, stamped 916, or lower karats like 18 or 14, alloyed with copper or silver for strength. That alloy is not gold, so the pure-gold content in a piece is always less than its gross weight. A karatmeter reading at the counter tells you exactly how much of what you are carrying is gold before any rate is applied.

Two more things sit between the published rate and your payout:

  • Making charges. Whatever you paid a jeweller to craft the piece does not come back when you sell it as old gold; a buyer pays for the metal, not the labour already spent.
  • Margin. Every buyer, including this shop, works to a margin below the published rate, which is how the business itself stays open.

None of this can be reduced to a rupee figure in a blog post, because it depends on the exact weight and purity of your piece, both measured in front of you at the counter. For how that measurement is done, see how gold is valued here, and for a fuller explanation of the gap between the rate in the news and what you get paid, see why the published rate is not your payout.

Where can I check today's rate before I come in?

The today's gold rate page is updated through the day and carries a calculator where you can enter weight and purity to see how the rate applies, so you are not walking in blind. It shows the rate; it does not promise a payout, since that still needs a karatmeter reading on the piece itself.

If you have old sona lying at home and are wondering "gold bechna hai ya nahi", there is no need to decide before you know the numbers. Checking the rate costs nothing, and testing your gold at the counter is free whether or not you sell that day. Questions people ask

Who fixes the gold rate in India every day? The India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) publishes a daily reference rate for 999 fine gold, based on international prices and the rupee-dollar rate, and most Indian jewellers and gold buyers price off that number.

Is the rate the same at every shop in Noida? Shops start from the same IBJA reference but set their own counter rate and margin on top, so quotes can differ slightly; call or WhatsApp 9217742656 if you want today's number read out before you travel from Noida Extension or anywhere in Delhi NCR.

Why is the international gold price lower than the Indian rate? The international price is for pure gold in US dollars with no Indian taxes added; once it is converted to rupees, import duty and GST are added on top, which is why the Indian figure is always higher.
