Selling gold in Greater Noida West? Ask us about your piece before you decide.
Call 9217742656WhatsAppIf you do not have your ID with you, the sale waits until you do. Every gold buyer should record a photo ID for every sale, and we do. A buyer who says it is not needed is the one to be careful about.
We are in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West), and pickups cover Delhi NCR. Whether you are coming to the shop or booking a visit, this post covers what to do about ID before you leave home.
Can I sell gold without my ID?
No. Not at our counter, and not at any buyer that follows the rules.
The reason is simple. Gold is easy to carry and easy to steal. Recording who sold what is how a shop avoids buying stolen gold. It is also how you are protected if anyone ever questions the sale. Your name is on the record, with the date and the weight.
This is not a special check for you. Everyone who sells gold to us is asked for ID, every time, whether it is one small ring or a full set. It does not depend on how the person looks or how much gold they have.
If you have already travelled and forgot the ID, you have lost some time. You have not lost your gold or your chance to sell. Take it home, bring the ID next time, and nothing else about the sale changes.
What ID counts?
The ID must be a photo ID issued by the government, with your name on it. The usual ones are:
- Aadhaar card
- Voter ID (EPIC)
- Driving licence
- Passport
- PAN card
Bring the original, not a photocopy. The person at the counter needs to match the photo and name to your face.
If your ID has an old address, that is usually fine. The name and photo matter most. If the card is damaged or the photo is hard to recognise, call before you travel.
Some people keep ID on their phone. Whether a phone copy is accepted can depend on the buyer, so ask before you come. Do not assume. The plain card is the safe choice.
For more on why the ID is asked for and what happens to the record, read why a gold buyer asks for your photo ID.
What if the gold is not in my name?
The ID has to belong to the person selling. The gold itself does not need your name on it. Most family gold has no name on it at all.
So the question is who is standing at the counter:
- The gold is yours, a gift or inherited: bring your own ID. That is all.
- The gold belongs to a parent or relative who can travel: the best way is for the owner to come with you, with their own ID. They are the seller, and you are there to help.
- The owner cannot travel: do not send the gold alone with a different person's ID. Call us first and explain. We will tell you what we can do and what we cannot.
Never borrow someone else's ID to make a sale go through. If the gold is not yours to sell, the sale can cause trouble for you later.
Two other posts cover the family situations in more detail: selling jewellery you inherited and selling gold you were given as a gift.
Why is a buyer who skips ID a warning sign?
A buyer who does not ask for ID is not being kind to you. They are skipping the step that protects both sides.
Here is what it usually means:
- They do not keep records. If there is no record, there is nothing you can show if the sale is questioned.
- They may buy stolen gold. A buyer who does not ask who is selling does not care where the gold came from.
- They may not follow other rules either. A shop that skips this step may skip testing in front of you, or give you no receipt.
Sometimes a buyer will say "no ID needed, turant cash." That sounds easy when you are short of money. Do not take it as easy. A fast sale with no questions asked is exactly the kind of sale that goes wrong.
Before you hand over any gold, read five questions to ask any buyer. Asking for ID is one of the things a proper buyer does without being prompted.
What should I bring so the visit works first time?
Bring the following:
- Your original photo ID, in your own name.
- The gold you want to sell. Bring it all, so it can be tested together.
- Any bill or box you have. These are helpful but not needed. See selling gold when you do not have the original bill.
Your gold is tested on a karatmeter while you watch, and weighed in front of you. The figure for your pieces is worked out at the counter once the testing is done. You decide whether to sell. You can say no at any point and leave with your gold.
If you are not sure your ID will work, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 before you travel and tell us which ID you have. It takes a minute and can save you a trip.

What if I cannot get to the shop with my ID?
Take your time. Nothing has to happen today.
If getting to Noida Extension is hard, a pickup in Delhi NCR is possible. ID is still checked and recorded at pickup. It is the same process, only at your door. How that works is explained in selling gold without leaving home.

Questions people ask
Can I sell gold without Aadhaar card? Yes, if you have another government photo ID in your name, such as a voter ID, driving licence or passport. You need one valid photo ID. It does not have to be Aadhaar.
Is ID needed to sell old gold? Yes. Photo ID is recorded for every sale at our counter, whatever the amount of gold. If a buyer does not ask for it, treat that as a reason to go elsewhere.
Can someone else sell my gold for me? Not with their own ID in place of yours. The owner of the gold should be the seller, with their own ID. If the owner cannot travel, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and explain before you bring anything.
