Selling gold in Greater Noida West? Ask us about your piece before you decide.
Call 9217742656WhatsAppIf you searched sona becho near me and saw a big rate in the news, expect your payout to be lower than that rate. The rate is for pure gold. Your payout comes from three numbers measured on your own piece: purity after testing, weight after stones and solder, and the buyer's margin. We are in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West), and our pickups cover Delhi NCR.
Why is my payout lower than the rate in the news?
The rate you see online is a price for pure gold, set for the market that day. Your necklace is not pure gold. It is an alloy, it has a clasp, and it may have stones or lac inside it.
So the rate is only one input. The other inputs belong to your piece. Nobody can know them from a headline, and nobody can know them from a phone call either.
That is why "aaj ka rate" and "mera paisa" are two different things. Neither number is a trick. They answer different questions. We explain the gap in more detail in why the published rate is not your payout.
What does purity after testing mean for my old gold?
Jewellery is usually 22 karat. That means 22 parts gold in 24, which is 91.6%, the "916" on the stamp. The rest is copper or silver, added to make the gold hard enough to wear.
Here is the part that surprises people. The stamp says what the piece was made to be. The test says what it reads now. Purana sona often reads lower than the stamp, because of repairs, old solder, or pieces that were never 22 karat to begin with. Some old pieces have no stamp at all.
Only the reading on your piece counts. We test your gold on a karatmeter while you watch, so you see the number as it appears. If you want the steps, read how a karatmeter reading is taken or what a karat stamp does not tell you.
Why does the weight change after stones and solder?
The weight on your old bill, or the weight your family remembers, is the whole piece. The weight that counts is the gold in it.
- Stones and beads: they are not gold, and we do not buy them. Their weight comes off.
- Meena and lac: these are fillings inside the piece. They also come off.
- Solder: old repairs add metal that is lower in purity than the rest.
- Clasps and hooks: sometimes they are a different alloy.
A heavy-looking set can hold fewer grams of gold than you expect. This is the number people argue about most, and it is also the easiest to check. Ask to see the scale, and ask what was taken off and why. More on this is in stones, meena and clasps.
What is the buyer's margin, and can I ask about it?
Every buyer keeps a margin. The buyer has to melt, refine or resell your gold, and has to cover the shop. Any buyer who says there is no margin is not being straight with you.
You are allowed to ask how the rate used for your piece compares with the published one. A buyer who answers plainly is worth your time. A buyer who gets vague is telling you something too.
This is also why two shops can quote different amounts for the same gold. Read why two shops quote different rates before you compare.
What should I ask so all three numbers are shown?
When you search sona becho near me, you will find many shops. They look the same on a map. Before you hand over anything, ask for these, in this order:
- The purity reading. Ask to see it on the karatmeter, on your own piece.
- The weight, before and after. Ask for the full weight, then the weight of the gold alone, and what was taken off.
- The rate used. Ask which rate was applied, and where it is from.
- The final figure, with all three together. It should be explained, not just announced.
If a buyer will not show one of these, you can pick up your gold and leave. That is always allowed. There is a longer list in five questions to ask any buyer.
Can I send a WhatsApp photo before I travel?
Yes, and it saves a trip. When you look for sona becho near me, you are often deciding whether the journey is even worth it.
Send clear photos of the piece, any stamp, and the full set if you have more than one item. Add the weight if you know it. From this we can give you a range, not a final figure. A photo cannot show purity, and it cannot show what sits inside the piece. Anyone who gives you one exact figure from a photo is guessing, or is leaving room to change it at the counter.
The range tells you whether it makes sense to come. The final figure comes only after the test and the weighing. If you would rather not travel at all, read about home pickup. For Delhi, see selling gold in Delhi.
Should I sell now, or wait?
Nothing has to happen today. If you are selling because money is tight, that is a real reason, and it is your decision. You do not owe anyone a quick answer.
A calm way to decide:
- Check the day's rate on our rate page, so you know what the news number is.
- Get a range on WhatsApp from us, and from one other shop if you wish.
- Visit only the shop that agrees to show you all three numbers.
- Say no if the final figure does not make sense to you.
If you want to talk it through first, call or WhatsApp 9217742656. We will tell you what to bring and what we can and cannot judge from a photo. For a Hindi version of these steps, see gold bechna hai. If you want to go straight to cash for gold, our cash for gold page explains how the payment is made.
Questions people ask
Why is the gold buyer's price lower than the rate I see online? The online rate is for pure gold. Your payout depends on the purity your piece tests at, the weight of the gold alone, and the buyer's margin.
Is 22 karat gold the same as 916? Yes. 22 karat is 22 parts gold in 24, which is 91.6%, written as 916. Old pieces can test lower than the stamp, so the reading on your piece is the one that counts.
Can I get a price from a WhatsApp photo? You can get a range, not a final figure. Send photos to 9217742656 and we will tell you whether the trip makes sense. The exact figure comes after testing and weighing at the counter.
