For smaller amounts, you are paid in cash at the counter, right after your gold is tested and weighed in front of you. For larger amounts, payment usually goes by bank transfer into your own account, on the same visit. You are not asked to come back the next day, or wait for a cheque to clear. This is how payment works at our counter in Noida Extension / Greater Noida West, and pickups across Delhi NCR follow the same process.

Cash or bank transfer: which one do I get?

Both are available, and which one you use is mostly your choice.

  • Cash works well for smaller pieces — a broken chain, a single earring, one ring you no longer wear. You are handed the amount at the counter once the price for that piece is agreed.
  • Bank transfer is more common for larger amounts, whole sets, or when you would rather not carry cash home. It also leaves a clean record on your side, which helps if the gold belonged to someone else in the family and more than one person needs to see where the money went.

Neither option changes how your gold is tested or weighed. The karatmeter reading, the weighing, and the rate applied are the same either way — see how the karatmeter reading is taken for that part of the process. Only the last step, handing over the money, changes.

How fast does the payment actually happen?

Same day, in almost every case. The sequence is:

  1. Your gold is tested on the karatmeter while you watch.
  2. It is weighed, and the rate for that purity is applied.
  3. A price is worked out for your piece and agreed with you.
  4. You are paid — cash across the counter, or a transfer initiated right away.

Cash is instant. A bank transfer depends on your bank on the receiving end, but it is sent the same visit, usually as an IMPS or UPI transfer that reflects within minutes. Nothing here depends on the gold rate moving or on any reason to rush — the timing is about how the payment method works, not about pressure to sell today. If you want the fuller walk-through of the whole visit, read what happens between the counter and the cash.

What changes for larger amounts?

The testing and weighing do not change. Two things do:

  • Identity check. For larger amounts, you will be asked for a photo ID, the same way a bank or any formal buyer would ask. This is explained in why a gold buyer asks for your photo ID.
  • Payment route. Large amounts are paid by bank transfer rather than cash, mainly for your own safety — carrying a large amount of cash out of a shop is a risk you should not have to take, and a transfer means you never have to count it there. Your bank account details are noted before the transfer is sent, not before your gold is tested.

If you are selling a full set rather than one piece, each item is still tested and weighed on its own before the total is worked out — see selling one piece or the whole set for how that is handled.

Do I need to bring my bank details for a bank transfer?

Just your account number and IFSC code, or a cancelled cheque or passbook page if you have one handy — a screenshot of your UPI ID works too. You do not need to arrange any of this before you come. If cash suits you better for the amount you are selling, say so at the counter and that is what happens instead.

Questions people ask

Do I get cash immediately when I sell gold? Yes, for smaller amounts you are paid in cash right at the counter, as soon as the price for your piece is agreed after testing.

Is bank transfer safe for a large gold sale? Yes — for larger amounts, a transfer into your own account is safer than carrying cash out of a shop, and it is sent the same visit once your gold is tested and your account details are confirmed.

Can I ask questions about how I'll be paid before I sell? Yes, ask before you hand over anything — call or WhatsApp 9217742656 if you want to check how payment works for your particular piece before you come in.
