Selling gold in Greater Noida West? Ask us about your piece before you decide.

If you want to sell your gold, the visit is short and every step happens in front of you. We check your ID, test the gold on a karatmeter, weigh it, write the sum on paper, and only then do you decide. You can take the gold back at any point before you accept.

We are in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West), and pickups cover Delhi NCR. This page walks through the visit in order, so nothing at the counter is new to you. If you are searching "sell gold near me" or "gold bechna hai" for the first time, this is the whole process. For the Hindi version, see our gold bechna hai page.

What happens when I walk in to sell my gold?

You arrive with your purana sona, in a pouch or a box. Nobody needs to introduce you or book ahead. Say that you want to sell, and sit down.

The gold stays on the counter in front of you. It does not go into a back room. If anything is going to be moved, you will see it moved.

If you want a longer list of what to carry, read what to bring when you come to sell gold. For a general picture of a shop visit, see what to expect walking into a gold shop.

Do I need ID, and do I need the bill?

You need a photo ID. A buyer who takes gold from you without knowing who you are is a buyer you should not trust. The ID protects you as well. It shows the sale was yours and was recorded. The reasons are in why a gold buyer asks for your photo ID.

You do not need the original bill. Many families bought the jewellery years ago, or received it as a gift, or inherited it. The bill says where the gold was bought. It does not change what the gold is made of or how much it weighs, and those two things decide the payout. More on this in selling gold when you do not have the original bill.

How is my gold tested?

This is the step most people worry about, and it is the one you can watch.

We test your gold on a karatmeter while you watch. The reading shows the purity of the piece, such as 22 karat (the "916" many people know from jewellery). You see the number on the screen. You are not told a number from across the counter.

Three things help you here:

  • Ask to see the screen. The reading is yours to look at.
  • Ask for each piece to be tested. A mixed bag often holds 22k, 18k and older pieces together.
  • Ask what the reading means. A karat stamp on the jewellery is only a marking. The test shows what is actually in the metal.

If you want to know how the reading is taken, see how a karatmeter reading is taken, step by step or our page on how we value your gold.

A short note on parts that are not gold. If your piece has stones, meena or a lac filling, we do not buy the stones and we do not value them. Only the gold is counted. The weight of those parts is explained in stones, meena and clasps.

How is the gold weighed?

After the test, each piece is weighed on the counter scale, in grams. You can see the display. Weigh the pieces together or one by one, as you prefer.

If your family counts in tola, the conversion is in tola, ratti and grams. The scale itself is described in how your gold is weighed.

How is the amount worked out?

The amount comes from three inputs, and we write them down for you:

  1. Weight of the piece, in grams, from the scale.
  2. Purity from the karatmeter reading.
  3. The rate for that day, which you can check yourself on our gold rate page before you come.

In plain words, the sum is the weight, multiplied by the purity, multiplied by the rate. Each part is on paper in front of you, so you can check the multiplication on your own phone.

We do not print an estimate in advance, because the figure depends on the test. A piece is not worth anything on this page until it has been tested and weighed at the counter. The rate in the news is also not the rate you are paid at. The difference is in why the gold rate in the news is not what you get paid.

If another shop quoted you something different, you can compare the inputs line by line. That is what why two shops quote different rates explains.

How and when do I get paid?

Once you accept the sum, you are paid. Ask how the payment will be made before you agree, and ask to see it done before you hand the gold over. Cash for gold is the usual expectation, and our cash for gold page says more about it. The details of timing are in how you get paid, and how fast.

Can I walk away with my gold?

Yes. This is the most important point on the page.

Until you say yes to the sum, the gold is yours. If the reading surprises you, or the amount is lower than you hoped, you can say no. We put the gold back in your hands. You do not owe anything for the test or the weighing.

Take your time. Nothing has to happen today. Some people go home, check the rate, talk to their family, and come back later. Others test their gold at two shops and compare the sums. Both are sensible. Selling is often a decision made under pressure, and you should make it without any from us.

Before you decide, these questions are worth asking any buyer, including us: five questions to ask before you hand over your gold.

Where do I go, and who do I call?

The shop and directions are on our visit us page, and the locality page for Noida Extension lists what the trip looks like from nearby sectors. If you would rather not travel, or you are in Delhi, see sell gold in Delhi. You can also call or WhatsApp 9217742656 to ask whether pickup is possible from your address, or what to bring for a particular piece.

Questions people ask

How long does it take to sell gold at a shop? For a few pieces, the test, weighing and sum are done while you sit at the counter. Longer lists take longer. The full timing is in how long selling gold takes.

Can I change my mind after the gold is tested? Yes. Until you accept the sum, the gold is yours and you can take it back. Testing and weighing do not commit you to sell.

Can I ask questions before I come? Yes. Call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and ask what to bring, whether pickup is possible for you, or how the process works. You do not have to give your gold details to ask.
