Selling gold in Greater Noida West? Ask us about your piece before you decide.
Call 9217742656WhatsAppBefore you choose a gold shop for selling in Noida Extension, ask for three numbers: the purity on the karatmeter screen, the weight of the gold alone after stones and clasps, and today's rate for that purity. A buyer who gives you only one total figure is keeping those three out of sight. We are Cash for gold - Sona Do Paise Lo, at Shop 25, French Arcade, Sector 16B, Greater Noida West, and pickups cover Delhi NCR.
What should a gold shop for selling show me first?
Show you the purity, on a screen you can read. Not a nod, not "it is good gold", not a number said out loud from behind a counter.
The karatmeter reads the metal and shows the purity as a number. Your 22 karat chain may read close to 916, or it may read lower. Old pieces, repaired pieces and pieces with solder often read lower than the stamp. That is normal, and it is the reason to look at the screen rather than the stamp.
At the table, check three things:
- The piece sits on the testing surface in front of you, not out of sight.
- The reading stays on screen long enough for you to read it.
- The buyer says the number aloud and you can see the same number.
If the buyer turns the screen away, or says "I will tell you the total", that is your answer about the shop. Step back and take your time.
Our own method is on how we take the karatmeter reading. The step-by-step version is in How a karatmeter reading is taken.
Why does the weight come out lower than my jewellery weighs?
Because a necklace is not all gold. Stones, meena (enamel), lac fill, pearls and the thread on a haar all add weight, and none of it is gold. We do not buy stones, so only the gold is weighed and paid for.
Sellers here often bring wedding sets from Gaur City and the Crossings Republik side: jhumkas with stone drops, chokers with meena, bangles with a clasp or a screw. Each of those carries weight that is not gold. The honest way to handle it is to separate the parts you can, weigh the gold, and say what was taken out.
Ask the buyer for two things:
- The scale faces you. You see the digits as they settle.
- Any deduction is named. "Stones, about this much" is an answer. "Wastage" with no figure is not.
A buyer who gives only a total can hide a heavy deduction in it, and you cannot tell. More in Stones, meena and clasps: the parts that are not gold and Why the weight on the buyer's scale is less than you expected.
What is today's rate, and for which purity?
A rate is only meaningful with a purity attached. Ask: "What is today's rate for the purity you just read?" The rate for 22 karat is not the rate for 18 karat, and neither is the rate for a piece that read in between.
Then compare it to the day's published rate on our gold rate page. The number in the news is not what any buyer pays, and the gap should be explained, not hidden. The reasons are in Why the published rate is not your payout.
We do not print what a piece will fetch, because it depends on all three inputs together. The figure is worked out at the counter once your gold is tested, in front of you.
What does a buyer who gives only a total leave out?
Think of the three numbers as a chain. Purity times weight times rate gives the figure. If you hear only the end of the chain, you cannot check any link.
A buyer who gives a total can be:
- reading the purity lower than the screen would show, or with no screen at all;
- taking off more weight than the stones and clasps account for;
- using a rate for a lower purity, or an older rate, than the one on the board.
You may meet an honest buyer who is just quick. The fix is the same: ask for the three numbers, one at a time, and see whether they come without a fuss. A shop that is happy to show all three has nothing to cover.
How do I compare shops around Noida Extension?
Nearby competitors are mostly branches of Delhi chains along the Gaur City road. Many of them are perfectly decent shops. The difference we offer is a karatmeter screen and a scale that both face you, so the three numbers are visible without asking twice.
Use the same test everywhere. Carry the piece, ask the same three questions, and write down what you hear. If one shop will not answer, you have learned something. For a longer list, see Five questions to ask any buyer before you hand over your gold and Should you get a second quote before you sell your gold?.
Nothing has to happen today. A purana sona chain that sat in a locker for ten years can sit a few more days while you compare. The Hinglish version of this page is gold bechna hai.
Should I come to the counter or ask for a pickup from my sector?
From most of the area, the counter is a short trip. People in Gaur City 1 and 2, Gaur Chowk (Char Murti), Ek Murti Chowk, Sectors 1, 4, 16, 16B and 16C, Tech Zone 4, Amrapali Dream Valley and Leisure Valley walk in or ride over in about ten to fifteen minutes by map estimate. Crossings Republik is across the road. Bisrakh Road, Kisan Chowk, Patwari and Vaidpura are in the same circle. We are open 9 am to 10 pm, every day, so you can come after work.
Choose a pickup if you would rather not carry gold on the road. That could be a heavy set, a bag of pieces you do not want to take on a bike, or a family member who cannot travel. The three numbers are the same either way, and you should ask for all three at your door as well. The trade-offs are in Cash for gold, Noida Extension: pickup or the counter, and how to decide.
If you want to see the counter first, the visit page has the address and a map. The Noida Extension page covers the circle, and sell gold in Noida Extension covers the steps.
What should I do before I walk into any gold shop for selling?
Take a short list and keep it simple:
- Bring a photo ID. It is asked of every seller. See why a buyer asks for ID.
- Bring the piece as it is. Do not clean it, and do not remove stones yourself.
- Weigh it at home if you can, on a kitchen scale. It will not be exact, but it tells you whether the counter's number is in the right region.
- Ask for the three numbers, in order: purity, gold weight, rate for that purity.
- You may say no. If the figure does not make sense, take the gold back. Nothing is lost by leaving.
If you are unsure about anything, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and ask the three questions before you travel. You can also send a photo of the piece. Any shop that answers clearly on the phone is worth a visit, and one that will not may not be worth the trip.
Selling the gold is not the only choice. If you are weighing it against a loan, read Sell the gold or take a gold loan: how to decide. Whichever you pick, a good gold shop for selling will give you the numbers and let you decide.
Questions people ask
What three numbers should I ask for when I sell gold? Ask for the purity shown on the karatmeter, the weight of the gold alone after stones and clasps, and today's rate for that purity. With all three, you can check the figure yourself.
Why is my gold lighter on the buyer's scale than at home? Stones, enamel and clasps are weighed out because they are not gold. Ask the buyer to name each deduction and show the scale as it settles.
Can I check the rate before I come to the shop? Yes. Look at the gold rate page, then call or WhatsApp 9217742656 to ask how it applies to the purity of your piece.
