"Cash for gold" is the name of the service, but a larger sale is usually paid partly or wholly by bank transfer. Indian rules limit how much can be handed over in notes for one sale. The exact split is settled at the counter once your gold is tested, and you should ask for it before you agree.

We are in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West), and pickups cover Delhi NCR. The rest of this post covers what you are paid with, how fast it lands, and what to carry.

How much of cash for gold is actually cash?

It depends on the size of the sale. A small piece, such as a single ring or a broken clasp, can often be settled in notes. As the value rises, more of it moves to a bank transfer.

The reason is not the shop's preference. Tax rules cap the cash a buyer may pay for one transaction. A buyer who pays a large sale entirely in notes is either ignoring that rule or hoping you will not ask.

So do not read "cash" as a promise of a bag of notes. Read it as "paid on the same visit, without waiting." That is the part worth holding a shop to.

Before you agree to anything, ask three plain questions:

  • How much of this will be in notes, and how much by transfer?
  • Which bank account will the transfer go to?
  • Will I see it arrive before I leave?

A fair buyer answers all three without fuss. For the wider checklist, see five questions to ask any buyer.

When does the money become a transfer?

The figure is worked out only after your gold is tested and weighed. Until then nobody can say what the payment will be, so nobody can say how it will be split.

In practice the order runs like this:

  1. Your gold is tested on a karatmeter while you watch.
  2. It is weighed in front of you.
  3. The figure is worked out from purity, weight and the day's rate.
  4. You agree, or you say no and take your gold back.
  5. Payment is made, in notes, by transfer, or a mix.

You are free to stop at step 4. Nothing has to happen today. If the figure is not what you hoped, you can leave, think, and compare. Our post on what happens between the counter and the cash walks through those steps in more detail.

How fast does a transfer land?

A bank transfer between accounts is usually quick. UPI and IMPS reach most accounts within moments. Delays, when they come, tend to be on the bank's side or from a wrong account detail.

Two habits protect you:

  • Check the account number and name before the transfer is sent, not after.
  • Look at your own phone or banking app and confirm the money has arrived before you hand over the gold or leave the counter.

If a buyer says "it will reach you by evening" and you have not seen it, that is not a sale you have finished. You should be paid in full while you are still standing at the counter. Our post on how you get paid, and how fast goes through this in full.

What should I bring for cash for gold?

Bring the following. None of it is complicated.

  • Your gold, in whatever state it is in. Broken, tangled or single pieces are fine.
  • Photo ID, such as Aadhaar, a PAN card, a passport or a driving licence. Why a buyer asks for it.
  • A bank account you can use, with your phone and banking app working. Take a cancelled cheque or passbook if you have one, so the account details are right.
  • The original bill or hallmark papers, if you have them. If you do not, that is not a reason to stay home. See selling gold without the bill.
  • A person you trust, if you would feel better with company.

There is a longer list in what to bring when you sell gold. If you have no ID with you, read what happens then before you travel.

One more point. We buy gold only. Stones, enamel and other parts are not bought, so do not expect a payment for them.

Is cash for gold safe for someone selling for the first time?

It can be, if you keep control of each step. Selling under financial strain makes people feel they must accept the first thing said to them. You do not have to.

Some signs of a buyer you can trust:

  • The test is done in front of you, not in a back room.
  • The weight is shown on a scale you can read.
  • The payment method is stated before you agree.
  • You are allowed to say no and leave with your gold.

If something feels wrong, leave. A buyer who objects to your leaving has told you what you needed to know. How to check a buyer before you hand anything over has more.

If you are looking for a shop on your phone, cash for gold near me explains how to tell the results apart. Our page for cash for gold in Greater Noida West says what we do and where we are.

Can I ask for the payment in a particular way?

Yes. Say what you need at the start. If you want the full amount in your account because you are paying a hospital or a school fee, say so. If you need some notes for the same day, say that.

Within the tax limits, a buyer can usually meet either request. If you are not sure what suits you, call or WhatsApp 9217742656 before you travel, and we can tell you how payment works for a sale of your size. We will not give you a figure over the phone. That is worked out at the counter, once the gold is tested.

If you would rather not travel, selling without leaving home explains how a pickup works. Pickups cover Delhi as well.

Questions people ask

Is cash for gold really paid in cash? Small sales can be paid in notes. Larger ones are usually paid wholly or partly by bank transfer, because tax rules limit cash for a single sale. Ask for the split before you agree.

How quickly will I get the money after selling gold? Payment is made at the counter, on the same visit. A transfer by UPI or IMPS normally reaches your account within moments, and you should see it arrive before you leave.

Can I find out how I will be paid before I come? Yes. Call or WhatsApp 9217742656 and ask how payment works for a sale like yours. The amount itself is worked out only after your gold is tested at the counter.
